Welcome to Mandisa's Catch-all Guestbook! Now we're interactive! Are the pages too bright and pastel? Are you gripped with the desire to flame or praise my weird ramblings? Any suggestions about additions you'd like to see? Honestly, I'd like to know who (or what?!) is wandering through this dusty nook of the web. Let me know what you think of the place. Spammers have ruined the internet - I'd like to redo the site and bring it into the modern age *grin*, which will allow for new updates and hopefully a comment system that filters out bots and their ilk better. Until that time, here are the past comments from real fans such as yourself. Enjoy! (4/19/2011)
Love the site^^!! It's really qute!! And I looooove Ceres, Fushigi ugi and Alice 19th!! I looket at the first, and because i love Ceres and F.U., I thought I might try another Yuu Watase-manga. But then I saw the picture of the fourth volume, with Frey on, and I thougt ;-Well, if Ceres and F.U. are THAT good, then it might not hurt to buy four of this "Alice"? Besides there are only seven of them so...
I greatly enjoyed your comments on Gerald Tarrant. He is a favorite of mine. I'm wondering if you've read the Time Master Trilogy by Louise Cooper? It is out of print and difficult to find but the main character, Tarod, is the paragon of an anti-hero. There is also the Light & Shadow series by Janny Wurts. You can take your pick there as to who is the anti-hero as both of the opposing main characters are acting in direct conflict with what would be expected of them given their position and history. I'll be happy to go into more detail via email if you wish. Thanks again.
It pleases me IMMENSELY to find an anti-hero site. They are always my favorite characters, and I find myself buying books based on what kind of antiheroes I expect them to have. Antiheroes are my drug of choice.
Lol, I'm aware of how odd I may sound, but in any case, I'm glad I ran across your site.
Hey I love your pixs on Ceres. Im im not a loyal fan but i ama good one. I think that the things you wrote for each picture (if that was what u were going for) really makes sence. anyways just wanted to let you know that you did a great job on your page.
Eve :)
hey i love mangas. i love Ceres, Alice 19th, and alot of other ones. I have seen the sailor moon series. i am in the process of writing some with my friends. we are creating some really cool ones. in fact we are thinking of publishing them. i have a website that i use to get more information on mangas, so if you have any info please write me at wonderchief1 (at) aol.com.
I have only reas Alice 19th the first manga. But I love it and want to read the 2nd!
i love Alice 19th! i have read all seven books and I loved the ending sentence...but hated the ending!Isn't that weird?I think it is. My fave. charecter would have to be Frey because he is so funny. Oh and cuz I had nothin else to read I read the 2nd book about 7-8 times!Don't ask me where that came from, cuz i dunno either.
Hello,
[Note fr. Mandisa - Wow, what an invite. But my Japanese language skills are rusty at best, and I was never good enough to do spoken dialogue translations. Good luck with the project though, all Hanadan fans are likely eagerly awaiting the new series.]
tianj <tianj8 (at) gmail.com>
you must ut in amakusa shougu from ruroni kenshin one whom has surpassed kenshin in the hiten mitsurugi style but never learned the final technique nad you must put in yuske yurameshi(I hope I spelled theat right)from yu yu hakisho

Brilliant site! It's very very well-written, you're very articulate =) keep up the good work!
I liked the couple allen and hitomi because its like there destined to be. . . and there couple looks great, i dont like is van and hitomi because hitomi dosent deserve van...
I used the section "What is an Antihero" for an assignment and I really need to add this link to my bibliography. Could the author of the above article provide me with all the necessary details such as name etc. and send me an e-mail to ad03aglo (at) uwcad.it I would really appreciate it. Thanks, olek
I visited your "gallery of anti-heroes" and I must say I found your analysis on every one of the characters insightful and very well-written! Perhaps if you ever have the time, you could add another anime character to your gallery - Muraki Kazutaka from Descendants of Darkness. He's an interesting villain and even though his story and motives are not consistent, probably because his creator didn't plan in advance.
I have bookmarked your site and will check back often!
I feel very much like a novice when compared to the individual that wrote before me, but I just wanted to say that I also enjoyed your webpage! Yuu Watase is my favorite manga artist, and it makes me want to jump for joy when I learn of other fans. I haven't looked around much (sorry), so I don't know if you have made any other websites devoted to her work. However, your writing skills (as pointed out before) are splendid, and I'd like it if you would make more (for Ceres, Fushigi Yuugi, Absolute Boyfriend, etc.). If you ever get the chance, I'd love to visit them. Again, thank you very much!
I love your analysis of anime villains and anti-heroes! Fantast work, really. Complex characters make for the best shows as everyone is at least subconsciously aware, but only a few smart cookies like yourself have the tenacity to unpack their development and really spell it out. I enjoy analysis myself and I really enjoyed reading yours! It's not often that I find such quality writing. It's clear that you've put some effort in the turn of your phrases; I wouldn't call them rambling ^_~. Excellent work! I'm really glad I stuck around a bit after wandering in. Thanks!
i love fushigi yugi its the best anime and manga for me and i love the meteor garden well i dont know if all of u all know that
I really like Hana Yori Dango it was so beautiful anime also Rui Hnazawa he was so cute and Toudou Shizuka she was so beautiful!!!!!!
Hi, I've really enjoyed visiting your site! I think your site would do really great in our website competition, Mystickal Realms, where we compete to see whose site is the best, but more than that we get to know each other and have a lot of fun with the events!! Please come and check us out, and I do hope to see you signing up!!
You could do with a bit of updating of the lotis words. I've got a copy of the full list, so you can update that part of your site. - Cheers - Ki-chan
I like your site. A nice little corner of the web that takes a look at the darker side of characters that are spawned of man's twisted imagination. Some David Gemmell stuff wouldn't go amiss here...
Kya! I was just lamenting the dificulty of finding anime-influences in the crafting world (I suck at them, anyway, in case you're wondering) and I found your site by complete accident while googling "shoujo anime". There was the pattern for the Ohtri rose! I've been going through all of the pages, enjoying all the information and stuff - reading about Steam Detectives really takes me back! ^_^
I love this anime and especially the manga it SO COOL!!!! I love it! And the story is great too! And I think Van and Hitomi look really cute together =,)
i liked this story because it was interesting i only have 2 books but i really want to get the rest of the series i think yu watase is a great artist and story writer
Hmm, have you read or watched by ayashi no ceres by any chance? Since it seems to talk about yuu watase here
Hey, I liked this website alot. Thanks for the hard work. I will visit again. Keep it up! Lots of cheers!!! Arigato!
I loved it. It is the best site I've been to all day
looove you site
I love tamahome so much1
I liked/didn't like ...
Hey, interesting site you have. You get points for mentioning both Seishirou and Akio, two of my all-time favorite villians. Keep up the good work.
*Rock on sign* Go Gerald Tarrant!
I regretfully have to disagree with your analysis of the character of Zechs, from Gundam Wing. You do him a disservice, tying him so closely to Char. There are a lot of similarites, yes, but the two are not identical. I think the thing that was most flagrantly incorrect was your statement that Char/Zechs knew nothing about self-sacrifice. Sorry, but that's the entire ending of GW: Zechs, finally sees things clearly and volunteers to take out the core of an earth-threatening space station. This will almost certainly cause his death, but he chooses to do it, sending the "hero" out away from the blast.
Aside from that, I have to say you've done amazing work on this site. Thanks for having it available! ^_^
I love Alice 19th.if only there were more editions
see ya
I liked Alice 19th soooooo!!!!!!!!!! much!!! It Is FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!!
Great site! For future additions, think about Alucard (Hellsing), Anderson (Hellsing), Kyo (Samurai Deeper Kyo), Ichise (Texhnolyze)
I liked the show and mostly I liked CDM because I made my own CDM and its called ''Larry's Celebrity Deathmatch'' (LCDM) its tighter and da bomb than your show so mail me back at superboyspice05 (at) yahoo.com and see what matches you have in mind who might go against mines. (LCDM VS MANDISA'S CDM)
Hey dood, love the anti-hero thing. Screw superman, I wish I was an antihero like Spike. May I suggest looking at pop literature, aka comics? Wolverine, Punisher, and Hulk just beg for analysis... lemme know what you think.
Norwegian MANGA fan here!!!
Question: Do you now why Ceres vol. 9, 10, 11 ++ is impossible to get??? Can't find them anywhere!!!
silje
hmmm, what can i say?but im so addict with this story...i love tamahome very much..hahaha..

i like hanadan
Sorry to pop right back in here but read the one post from a few months back......Elric YES!!!! Make the time.
I liked the segment on Gerald Tarrant. He is a current obsession of mine along with Raistlin Majere. I find it interesting that the Neocount of Merentha is among your list. He is a...fascinating creature.
Hey nice site really, I'm just wondering if you'd like to trade links or buttons with my website: http://www.mangarealm.com - an online manga community created for manga fans by manga fans. Please contact me at webmaster (at) mangarealm.com if you are interested.

My youngest daughter thought that they are "GREAT".
I plan a Christmas gift for her using your Cross-Stich, If that is cool with you.
U dont know what matsu looks like? I beleive it looks like this:
Your site is really cool!! Kepp up the good work. FY rulez!!! Later. Ciao! ^.^
one of the features that i really enjoyed was the basic fact that you have the best anti-hero descriptions and all of your history is very accurate for every character. my own favor going to spike spiegel of course. but i had an idea as i was venturing forthwith in your site when i hit a possibility, add on the antiheroes from games, comics, literally, everything that's drawn. cause in games look at the possibilities, youve got the squaresoft games, the nintentdo games (not much yet 4 the box) and the way i see it, take it a step further...
I like the drawings!! Especially the banner!!! =)
Well, it's cute and very informative. And because of it, I
learned more about Mr. Watase..=) I really look forward to knowing more about him. It may not be from your website but still, this interested me most. Thank you!
More power!!!
Good luck!!!

I did like this site, it's so hard to find stuff about Alice 19th, or I just suck at looking for them. But you know what would be really great....if someone put up the Lotis SYMBOLS (not the words, the um....names too!!)
Thank you so much for a very useful site! I have a hard time finding Alice 19th sites so I'm very pleased I came here ^^
I like your website it rocks keep up the good work
Very nise site. Thanks :)

I liked this site! I have a Alice 19th blog (click on my site) and I hope we can be affilates!
I liked b'cause I like
It must have taken a long time to find all tose manga pictures! it shows when a person puts lots of work in a site! Good Job
I just loved your site. It's so good and clear. Keep going.
i would like to see tasuki from fushigi yugi
I've seen some pretty random things in my life, but never would I have thought of combining cross-stitching and anime. HOW COOL!! (Not to mention the fact that the pictures of your work look fabulous...)
So basically I decided today that instead of studying for my midterms, I would plan out a new project, including the Suzaku seishi. If you could somehow get me your patterns for the four gods, or even just Suzaku, that would be awesome.
Keep up the great work!
Thanks
I really like the Yu Watase related patterns, and I was wondering if you've done the kanji designs for Mitsukake and Chiriko as I'm stitching a sampler/design with the Suzaku seishi kanji. If you've done them, could I possible have the files? And would it be possible to have the kanji for the Four Gods too? I love your patterns, and I really want to finish the thing I've been stitching but need the other two kanji. Thanks a lot!
-Amy
I liked the Hana Yori Dango because it's like the meteor garden and it includes my idol there....vanness and ken as mimasaka and nishikado..in meteor garden they are mei zhuo and xi men, the playboy..
The greatest anti-hero is missing. Elric of Melnibone.
Moorcock was a master. "Blood and souls for my master".
This site is really helpful!! Thanx!!!
~Kelly
Yeah! I love it! A Kia Asamiya site! I looked for a dark angel site a while back and found nothing! Great layout! I didn't know Asamiya did some of the work found on here, so I love the fact you have compiled a list of his works! Well, off to find Asamiya manga! KEep up the good work!
I didn't like it you took my name (mandisa)!lol kidding
I LOVE YOUR SITE!!!!!!!! it rules!!!
Have you considered Seimei from the live action movie Onmyouji? He's technically the protagonist, but he's such an anti-hero! He's not like the traditional hero at _all_.
I liked/didn't like ...your gallery of anti-heroes. I turned up work when searching in general for "Gerald Tarrant." I appreciated your take on him--well written and thought provoking.
Can't resist suggesting a nomination--Marc Remillard of Julian May's works. He is truly the main character of a series of 8 books, though you don't even meet him until the third book. One of her descriptions of him runs something like "something in his eyes depicted the course of the failed idealist." (That's not exactly right--and it may be truly off the mark--I just can't get my hands on the page where the quote appears.)Incidentally, in this same series, another anti-hero is Aiken Drum, who figures prominently in the first 3 books and who is described by a psychologically sophisticated character as representing the archtype of the Trickster. If I may be so bold, if you liked Tarrant, I think you'll like Remillard and Aiken Drum. If I am wrong, please forgive. Thanks for your contribution!
I liked/didn't like ...
Awesome site! I especially liked your pages on Char and Spike. I also liked the way you added quotes at the top of each gallery. Perhaps you could add a quote section in the future. Just a thought;)
i hate the food
ROFTLMAO!!!!! Gah! Your commentaries are *priceless*,(Seishirou Sakurazukamori) can't wait to see what you say about Yuki Eiri next.Oi, and the cross stitch section's a real Godsend. I've been wanting since forever to stitch the Tennyo crest but had to give up when I couldn't find a pattern for it.
I really liked your Gallery of Antiheroes and really is interesting. Great job!
Just a simple hello to another Mandisa.
I am a big........fan of Mysterious play. I really love this banner course it shows all the characters in there. I have put this picture as my screensaver....So I could see it when I on's my computer...It's that cool or what....All I could say is the picture is GREAT!!!!!! If you are a big fan also, I would like to talk to you...Mail Me I'll be there for it....Bye!!!!!
The Alice 19th site is great! So far I've only read the first two volumes, but with the rest on the way from Viz soon, shall catch up on the series. The information on the Runes is very helpful. It gives me a quick reference to look at what's being cast and what it represents when the characters don't mention it right away. So thank you for that!
I loved the site, all your descriptions were accurate and well written. I enjoyed it all very much. I was especially surprised by your inclusion of Gerald Tarrant. I am in the middle of that series and I was surprised that he was included because I had never heard of the author or the books before this month. (I'm also a huge Kenshin and Bebop fan.) If you wouldn't mind contacting me at my email I'd love to talk to you about the characters and series you have covered and plan to cover. Anyway keep up the great work.
you have a great site, i love it! i think you're very original. my favorite character is seishiro sakurzukamori, and i love what you wrote about him. very cool site, keep it up :)
I really like this site, and the antihero villian part is the best i'm waiting for the vegta one. keep up the good work.
I have a suggestion for your gallery of antiheros. Squall Leonhart from the video game Final Fantasy VIII is perfect. He's a loner, doesn't care for people, yet dedicated to the things he does do and still has a heart in the end. And by the way, I just love your antihero gallery. They're always the best characters (and the hottest ^___^ especially Spike Spiegel, Gerald Tarrant, and Nicholas D. Wolfwood).
I think this is a really great site.
I'd like to have a link exchange with your site.
Really nice, expecially the first part.
Go on!
Quite a lot of well thought-out essays on the not-so-good guys. The one on Akio Ohtori is particularly interesting. Good work!
kool site...nice pix =) I would like to thank you for updating the Antiheroe section of your site that I inquired about a while ago. I also would be interested in discussing some of the characters with you if you wouldn't mind e-mailing me.So thank you and have a nice day.
Goku-chan is Kawaii, right? Oh, for all those who have lives, here's a little fact. It's not "Lilin-sama" it's "Lirin-sama." Keep your eyes wide open and you'll see that it's true, FIGURE IT OUT.
I liked all the pics i think kenshin is the hottest.
Wandered in to the Antiheroes section of your site and just wanted to say I found your essays fascinating and well written. :)
I just wanted to say that my sister's middle name is Mandisa and I think that it makes a pretty kool first name
I LOVE YOUR SITE. Gerald Tarrant is my favorite anti-hero, I have to say. You need Sephiroth! That guy is a slave to Jenova, but he is still awesome. His past is mysterious, he kills alot of people, and he has the anime-style white hair...What else does he need to get in ??? :P
Your Antiheroes gallery is awesome! I espeically liked your essay on Sakurazuka Seishirou. I tried to find your email to drop a line privately but didn't see it on the site. I was wondering if I might be able to reproduce that essay.
I like The Antihero section above all of the others, and find it to be very insightful, but I was wondering when/if you ever plan on going any farther with it. I would appreciate if you would start to post some more of your thoughts on the characters. Thank you for your time.
ive seen better, ive seen worse...
Keep up this great resource. I bookmark your site, best greetings ...
i really like your site! very informative! and furei/frey/frei is hot!!! and i love kyou!

I really like this site because it's informative! The design of this page is also cool too! Keep up the good work!
greetings from germany ... great site!
Wow. It is very noticeable when someone puts a clever thought into action, and your site shows this. I'm aware that this idea is not new, the appreciation of Anti-heroes, but the fact is that you actually understand why we
It's raining in Germany and it's a very bad weather. I surf and find your fantastic homepage, bookmarked it and will be back! greetings from " Krankenversicherung Hans "
Cool Site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!; ^ }
Hey, I was just casually reading your list of antiheros and villians. I see we appreciate much of the same stuff. I love Coldfire, Rurouni Kenshin and Dragonball Z. Plus my favorite characters from them are Tarrant, Saito and Vegeta. They are sweet. Anyways, nice site.
